Title: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
HI! I’m Valerie Snyder. I have a passion for helping individuals and families reach their goals and work through life’s ongoing hurdles. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing depression, ongoing trauma/stress, PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, mood disorders, personality disorders, relationship challenges, substance use, chronic illness, school/academic stress, and ongoing family conflicts.
Educational Background and Experience:
I received my Masters degree in Social Work from Campbellsville University.
I have worked in community mental health for 10 years as a case manager, family-based therapist, and as a school based outpatient therapist.
Therapeutic Approach:
I utilize a strength-based, trauma-informed approach to treatment, integrating a variety of therapeutic modalities in order to best meet each client’s unique needs. I rely most on CBT, DBT, ACT, solution focused brief therapy, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and structural family therapy. I received a state certification in Eco-Systemic Family Therapy while I was working in Family Based Therapy, and continue to use this knowledge with both individuals and families.
I believe that every feeling is valid and that every person has the right to genuine and compassionate care. My goal is to create a safe and warm space for clients to share, process, and collaboratively meet their goals.
