About Matt
A genuine, collaborative space
for you and the people you love
Matthew Pinnel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). He earned his Master's in Counseling Psychology, with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Holy Family University in 2015, and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2021. He works with individuals, couples, and families — bringing a calm, reflective presence to every session.
Matt's approach is systemic and strengths-based. He recognizes that the challenges people bring to therapy rarely exist in isolation — they are shaped by relationships, family dynamics, life history, and the transitions that inevitably arrive. Rather than focusing on problems alone, he looks for the potential for growth within each person and each relationship he works with. He is trained in CBT and DBT, and is currently working toward EMDR certification.
Whether he is working with a couple navigating conflict, a family rebuilding trust, or an individual working through anxiety or trauma, Matt brings the same qualities: genuine curiosity, patience, and a commitment to creating a space where clients feel truly safe and understood. He is an avid learner who continuously builds his clinical skills, and that same openness carries into every session he holds.
"I strive to create a genuine, collaborative, safe, and non-judgmental space as we work together."
Outside the office, Matt brings the same creativity and curiosity to his personal life. He enjoys movies (an AMC A-List member), video games, board game nights with family and friends, and creating art through painting, drawing, and colored pencil work. Those creative outlets inform the warmth and imagination he brings to his clinical work.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
